Library Cards

Library cards are offered to the general public at no charge. Patrons must apply in person with a valid Texas ID or driver's license with the current mailing address. In the event that your library card is lost or misplaced, a replacement can be obtained for a nominal fee of $2.00.

Borrowing

Item Limits

Adults can borrow up to 10 books, 4 DVDs, 4 audio books, and 4 ILLs at a time. Children can borrow up to 4 books, 1 DVD, 1 audio book, and 3 ILLs at a time.

Loan Term

The standard loan term for books and audio books is 2 weeks (14 days). For DVDs, the loan term is 1 week (7 days).

Fines

In the event that an item is returned after the due date, fines will be charged at a rate of 5 cents per day for each overdue item.

Renewals

Library material can be renewed twice, extending the loan period by an additional 2 weeks each time. Renewals allow for an extended borrowing period and continued enjoyment of the selected media. Items that are on reserve for other patrons may not be renewed.

InterLibrary Loans (ILLs)

Interlibrary loans (ILLs) may have different loan terms and renewal policies depending on the lending library's guidelines. Our staff will provide specific information regarding ILLs when a request is made.

Reserves & Requests

Visit our front desk, give us a call at 361-275-2864, or access your Library Account online to place a reserve on CML's material. If you require an Interlibrary Loan (ILL), you can make the request in person at the front desk or by calling 361-275-2864. Please note that ILL requests may take up to a month for the requested books to arrive.
