The Cuero Fire Department is comprised of two divisions: Suppression and Prevention

The Suppression Division- is responsible for response to emergency situations including property fires, motor vehicle incidents, Hazardous Materials incidents, electrical wires down, water rescues, and many other types of situations. There are six paid firefighters that work in unison with approximately 23 volunteers.

The Prevention Division- is responsible for conducting plan reviews of new construction and renovation projects, conducting fire and life safety inspections, as well as fire and arson investigations. There are currently 2 Fire Inspectors and 2 Fire Investigators which are certified by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection.
