Overview


The new Animal Control Facility opened in early 2013 with the help of several Community Volunteers, City Staff, and Members of Cuero Pet Adoptions, Inc. The shelter is located on FM 766 just past the Stevenson Unit. The Animal Control Facility is approximately 3,350 square feet under roof with 10 duplex housing kennels and four duplex quarantine kennels for dogs. Additionally, there is one quarantine room for cats with a separate housing room for cats. A separate supply room and storage rooms are available to assist animal control officer with daily tasks. Modern waste collection system assists in easing daily sanitary cleaning.

To leave an unwanted, animal that is not a stray, at the shelter there is a fee of $15.

If you contact the Police Department at 361-277-3552, the animal control officer will be dispatched.
