Mayor Randy Saenz Recognizes New Chief of Police Chris Hernandez

PROCLAMATION

RECOGNIZING CHIEF OF POLICE CHRIS HERNANDEZ

WHEREAS, Chris Hernandez is a native of the City of Cuero and has been in Law Enforcement for fourteen (14) years; and

WHEREAS, he began his career as a licensed Jailer for the DeWitt County Sheriff's Department in 1995; and

WHEREAS, he was commissioned as a Texas Peace Officer on December 15, 1997, and served the City of Victoria for close to three years; and

WHEREAS, He has been a dedicated employee of the City of Cuero since October 2002, working his way from a patrol/dare officer all the way to the top; and

WHEREAS, He has dedicated his life and has demonstrated his deep and genuine love for this city through his continued involvement and perseverance to the best interests of the people; and

WHEREAS, He has earned the admiration and high regard of those with whom he comes into contact, and the devotion of his fellow public servants; and

WHEREAS, He has excelled in implementing policies and procedures for emergency situations and acts as the Emergency Management Coordinator for the City of Cuero; and

WHEREAS, His performance of the duties and responsibilities to serve and protect are characterized by excellent leadership skills and ability to keep our entire community out of tribulations; and

WHEREAS, He has headed emergency response forces and worked side by side to rescue people threatened by danger, maintain emergency response services, and utilize emergency resources to effectively control any situation; and

WHEREAS, His academic achievements and on the job training display his ability to be true leader.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, RANDY SAENZ, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF CUERO, TEXAS, DO HEREBY RECOGNIZE CHIEF OF POLICE CHRIS HERNANDEZ, FOR HIS DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY, AND HIGHLY COMMEND HIM FOR THE MANNER IN WHICH HE HAS CARRIED OUT HIS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. I ASK EACH CITIZEN TO HONOR HIM BY PURSUING HIS EXAMPLE. IN WITNESS HEREOF I HAVE SET MY HAND AND CAUSED THE SEAL OF THE CITY OF CUERO TO BE AFFIXED THIS 6TH DAY OF OCTOBER 2009.
