Press Release
The City of Cuero’s Water is Safe to Drink
It has been brought to the attention of the City of Cuero that some of its
citizens are being solicited by vendors attempting to sell them water
purification and filtration systems. Some vendors are utilizing false and
irresponsible tactics to sell their products. Some vendors are falsely stating
that the City of Cuero’s water supply is hazardous and dangerous to drink.
Vendors who make such statements generate unfounded fears within the community.
The City of Cuero takes its responsibility of providing a safe water supply very
seriously and has requested that those vendors cease with this disturbing sales
tactic.
The City’s water supply is regulated by both state and federal agencies and its
water quality meets or exceeds all regulatory standards established by those
agencies. Furthermore, the City is required to publish an “Annual Drinking Water
Quality Report” annually which informs the public of the results of the tests
performed on its water. Additionally, the report provides other informative
information relating to the City’s water system. As required by law the City
sends out a copy of this report to its customers and also posts the report on
its website. Citizens can call 361-275-3476 to request a copy of the report as
well. The report is available in both English and Spanish.
If you are approached by a vendor who is attempting to sell you water
purification or filtration system based upon the false statement that the City’s
water system is hazardous or dangerous to drink please contact our office at
361-275-3476. The City of Cuero is dedicated to ensuring that rate payers can
depend upon having a safe and reliable water supply.
