The City of Cuero is a Council-Manager form of government. Under this form of government, the elected City Council sets the policies for the operation of the city's government, enacting local ordinances and adopting the budget. The administrative responsibility rests with the City Manager who is appointed by the City Council.

City Administration interprets the policies established by the City Council. Recommendations are made to the City Council concerning policies and programs. The department ensures the efficient operation of City services and is responsible for the City's finances. Developing financial reports and the City's annual budget is a primary responsibility of the administrative staff.

A WORD FROM THE CITY MANAGER

The government is based on rules, starting with the United States Constitution finally to the City Charter and City Code of Ordinances. City Administration places the rules into practice. Our job is to interpret, enforce and most of all, help you cope with the myriad of rules. We will do our best to help with understanding the rules.
